Making a Joyful Noise

School is starting for us soon... September 5th to be exact.

Sweetums will be a freshman.

Gulp.

Counting pre-school, we've been "official" homeschoolers for 11 years.

Wow.

Finding the right path to teaching Sweetums hasn't been an easy one, but it's always been an adventurous one. CHUCKLE.

For ninth grade, I chose a tried and true literature course by Christian Light Publications, and a new to us curriculum for everything else.

Walch Education has a special needs program called Power Basics that might just be the ticket. I hope. I hope. I hope. ;o)

The line up looks like this:

Literature
American Government
Biology
Math
English
Bible

I have a human body stashed in the closet for health.

Don't worry...

It's made of plastic.

You can choose the sex.

Sweetums says it's a female.

Her name is Aquanetta.

I'm also toying with the notion of a Music Appreciation class.

Sweetums is finally listening to music other than Johnny Cash.

She's now into the Everly Brothers. LOL

  3. Depending on which child/children we adopt, I may need some information on Walch for them, so I'll be seeking you out on how you like this, this year.

  5. Sounds like a great plan! I have to do music appreciation this year. I've been negligent and not introduced Violet to much of anything. She says she doesn't like music. Mr. I finds this unacceptable.

Good luck to you, Sweetums and Aquanetta!
